I would mention that holy priest is not meta and people prefer hpal/rsham for higher damage if its something you are going to level. I did play alot and once you get some gear/score its pretty easy to get into groups as a healer. Was able to get 2050io 100% pugging over about a month of time. There are some good healing addons but I dont think they are necessary at all or have experience with them. I moved the standard frames closer to the center of my screen and about 2x the standard size. Using mouseovers felt really natural for whatever reason. However you can still target friendly players to heal that way if you want to. This allows me to smite spam without ever having to target a friendly to heal. Also got a weak aura to track the flash concentration legendary buff since it is very important to keep up. I made mouseover macros for a majority of my spells. I use all 12 side buttons and other binds on the keyboard. I have no specific healing addons and also play with a razer naga. Recently leveled a holy priest to switch things up and the intention of getting ksm. Long time tank and dps player (warrior, druid, hunter, rogue). What I'm saying is, if a dps dies, its very often their own fault and not yours :) (Not counting higher keys where a randomly targeted and unkicked spell can kill a dps) Even better if they have experience or give constructive feedback.ĭo not get discouraged by dps yelling at you too! Most of the time you have plenty of time to heal them unless they stand in something. If you have the option of a tank buddy, or even anyone for that matter to tell you how comfortable they felt with you healing, that could help. I do recommend having all your heals as mouseover though, saves you one click already which might be the difference between life or death. I've lost count on how often friends didn't notice buffs or debuffs just because their addon didn't display it yet or its just a small square with no information.īut in the end, this boils down to preference. To me there is just no need for raid/partyframe addons anymore. You can set your party frames to always show as raid frames, move and customise them. Personally I'm a big fan of the default raid frames as a healer. Healbot is a great option if you don’t an MMO mouse with a multi-button side panel. That extra second you save from not having to re-target a player may mean the difference between life and death when it comes to healing. It also allows for you to Mouseover and click to cast your spells. HealBot is not only a Addon that allows you to change your player frames making it easier to heal in raids and dungeons. Remember your job is not only to heal but to do things such as debuff too.ĮlvUI, in my experience is the best UI addon you can use since it allows you to fully customise your UI. If your UI is messy then seeing when people need healing can be hard. Making sure that your UI is clean and easy to understand is key to becoming a good healer.
